Focus on safety and risk reduction

Computacare staff are fully conversant with safe operating procedures necessary to execute specialist work within the data centre. These include:

• Knowledge of safe handling and removal of floor tiles during the cleaning process
• Effective internal cleaning of racking
• Safe movement in the floor void
• Accessing correct power supplies

All the cleaning materials, cloths and wipes we use are specifically designed for use in the data centre. Cleaning cloths are microfibre anti-static, cleaning chemicals contain no nitrates or ammonia, which can be harmful to computer circuitry, and all vacuum equipment is HEPA micro-filtered and certificated.

Our staff ensure that every time they attend your site, as well as fulfilling the scheduled programme of work, they carry out detailed inspections of the void areas to look for, and report on, potential problem areas, such as deteriorating cement slab sealing, evidence of rodent infestation, past or present water leaks, damaged cables and connectors, as well as problems with posts and stringers. We can also measure and analyse air particle contamination and static electrical discharge levels to provide a clear picture of the condition of the data centre. Feedback from managers indicates that they find this aspect of our service to be invaluable for their planning and maintenance.

We will make an initial assessment visit to a new site in order to provide an Analysis Report which is tailored to the requirements of the client and addresses relevant issues prior to commencing work.
